The City Boy and The Village Boy

The City Boy and The Village Boy

I am the boy who lives in a city
Oh God! This pollution, this noise
Thousands of cars and bikes moving on the road
Wish I lived in a silent village
Sitting under a coconut tree,
Enjoying the cool breeze
And watching the farm animals
Life would have been full of joy
Oh God! I can’t tolerate this anymore,
I want to be a village boy.

I am the boy who lives in a silent village
Oh God! This boredom, this dullness
No one around me to play with
Wish I lived in a busy city
Where I could play with the other boys,
Counting the cars as they run on the road
And wander the lanes till I am tired
Life would have been full of joy
Oh God! I can’t tolerate this anymore
I want to be a city boy.
