A Halloween Night

A Halloween Night

Once a big successful businessman lived in a huge bungalow with his sweet little six year old daughter enjoying his life as he had no tensions and had everything a quiet, peaceful life a man desires. But one day it all changed. The man while going to a shop to buy some surprises for his sweet little girl for Halloween died in a road accident. Nobody dared to tell his daughter that her father had died fearing she might die of grief of her loving father on such a fine day of Halloween. Those who knew this man were very sad to lose such a wonderful man with an exception of his brother and his wife who were very greedy and wanted to collect all the riches of the world by any means.

“He must have written a will in favor of me as I am the only person alive in his family”, said John, the man’s brother.

“I don’t think so. I have heard he has written the will in the favor of his only daughter”, said John’s wife.

“Oh! She’s very small and doesn't know the value of money. She won’t have a problem if we stay with her. Will she?” asked John.

“John! You know I don’t like children. I cannot take the burden of looking after her”, said his cruel wife.

“We’ll have a maid for her”, he said.

“Does she deserve a maid? Don’t you know we have to pay for that thing? What a waste of money”, she said (she was a big miser too).

“Then we have no other choice than to kill her”, he said in a mischievous voice.

That night on the Halloween when the girl was sleeping peacefully, tired of trick and treating the whole day and wondering why her father didn't come till now (maybe is just a trick by her father to scare her). The cruel man got inside the room in a werewolf costume and came tip-toeing but couldn't help the flower vase from falling. The girl woke up with a jerk and said “Father?” which was the last word she spoke in her life as John covered her mouth and stabbed her with a bloody dagger.

After that night, John’s family shifted to the huge bungalow where he had committed an unforgivable murder. No one doubted him to be the murderers they thought the girl had died with grief of her father.

On the Halloween Day next year something unnatural started happening. When John woke up he saw a bloody dagger just near his stomach which faded quickly and realized that it was just a dream but the problem was that his wife too had seen the dagger on him. Horrified she jumped from the bed but slipped on the marble floor and let out a last shout. John quickly ran too see that she had stepped on blood and had died on the spot but suddenly her lips moved and whispered ‘You are dead’. The shock made him faint. At late night when he woke up he saw that he was in a different blood lit room. “Where am I?” he shouted. ‘You are in hell’ a voice whispered from behind. There was no escape here, he ran and ran and ran all around the room. He saw vampires’ playing cards and drinking blood from there bear glasses. “Wanna join?”, a tall vampire asked looking at him. He saw a pair of werewolves playing volleyball with a blood-covered baby for a ball. He also saw Zombies break-dancing on decaying corpses. Finally he found a door and quickly opened and entered it. Toys were all lying untidily here and there. Wait he had been in this room once. Oh yes! That was when he had killed the girl last Halloween. Suddenly some toys stirred and out came the blood covered six year old girl. Her eyes were red hot with anger.

“Forgive me niece, forgive me”, he pleaded bending on his knees.

“You were very bad uncle. You killed me. I am not as bad as you so I will let you kill yourself”, the girl said.

A blood covered dagger came from her stomach and went flying towards John.

“The wind is too strong uncle. It’s too strong. By the way happy journey too Hell”, she said.

“Noooo..” were the last words of John.

And the next morning the locals found the couple’s bodies and said they were killed by spirits as they had heard sounds in the house last night but many feel that it just a stupid Halloween story to scare people but I think you know what happened. Don’t you?
